Elega is the architecture of intention. Fragrance codes and hardware, engineered in Cairo [30.0444° N, 31.2357° E] and delivered across Egypt.
Position
The catalogue answers one question: what remains wanted in ten years. What passed the test is short. A code worn daily without fatigue. A wallet that improves with wear. A linen shirt cut for the climate the linen comes from. That list is the company.
Production
Codes
Blended in Cairo in batches of about three hundred bottles, then held six weeks before filling. The hold is why a code smells settled rather than sharp at delivery, and the constraint on volume.
Hardware
Ag925 sterling silver and solid brass, cast and finished in Cairo. Left unlacquered: the surface records use.
Leather
Vegetable-tanned full-grain hide, cut from one panel and saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread. A machine seam unravels along its length when it fails. A saddle stitch holds.
Apparel
Linen woven in Damietta [31.4165° N, 31.8133° E] from long-staple Egyptian flax, washed twice before cutting. Dimensions hold after the first wash.
Exclusions
No seasons
A piece stays in the index until a better one replaces it. Then the old one goes.
No house note
Nothing is added across the range to make it smell coherent. Each code is built on its own terms.
No coating
No lacquer on silver, no sealant on leather. Both materials record use. A bracelet that looks new after two years has not been worn.
The mark
The Elega mark is a structure: an outer circle, an inner ring, a cross, four nodes seated in the outer band, and a lowercase e at the centre. It is set in Void Black or Architectural White. It is not rotated, recoloured, outlined or given effects. The stacked lockup and the icon are its only two forms.
